VMware FusionのUbuntu14.04にVMwareToolsをインストールしてみた件
MacOS XのVMware FusionのゲストOSとしてUbuntu14.04をインストールしていたけどVMwareToolsをインストールしていなかったのでインストールしてみた。

マウント
VMware Fusionの「仮装マシン」メニューの「VMware Toolsのインストール」を選択することでマウントされる。

実行エラー
マウントされたものはDVDとして認識し、フォルダ画面が表示される。
フォルダ画面にあるtarボールをホームへドラッグ＆ドロップしてその後DVDを取り出す（取り出しボタンを押すとアンマウントされる）。
で実行してみたけど、open-vm-toolsをインストールする必要があるらしい。

VMwareToolsのインストール
もう一回インストーラを起動してインストール。質問はすべてデフォルト(この場合インストーラに"-d"オプションをつけるといいらしい)で、インストール完了後リブート。

VMwareToolsの再インストールしてkernel-modulesだけインストール
リブート後ログインしてUbuntuでコピーしてMacOS Xでペーストしてみたけどうまくいかず。
http://kledgeb.blogspot.jp/2015/09/ubuntu-vmware-workstation-player-2.html を見ると以下の質問でデフォルト[no]として答えていたのでカーネルモジュールを自動的にインストールしていないみたいなので再度インストール。

open-vm-tools-desktopをインストール
リブート後同じように試してみたけどコピペできない。open-vm-tools-desktopをインストールしてからVMwareToolsを再度インストール。
なお、今回のVMwareToolsインストールでの自動的にカーネルモジュールをインストールするかどうかの質問は先ほど[yes]と答えてのでデフォルト[yes]となっていた。

リブート後、Ubuntu上でコピーしたものをMacOS Xでペーストしてみたところうまくいった。
最初からopen-vm-tools-desktopを入れとけって話か。
